New Year's shrine visit (Hatsumoude)
I went to Hakone Jinja Shrine for Hatumoude today.
Hatsumoude means New Year's visits to shrines and temples.
During the New Year's vacation,
Japanese people make their first visits to shrines and temples to pray for happiness and good health for the year.
In shrines and temples people make a money offering and pray to God.
and also buy lucky charms (Omamori) and draw sacred lots to tell their fortunes of the year (Omikuji).
I drew a Omikuji and it said "Dai-kichi" means I'll have excellent luck!
Lucky me!!!!
